Job Description

The Candidate will support the Chief Engineer in oversight and execution of Electric Drive Modules (EDMs) across serial life and new (moderate/minor) launch applications. The Candidate will serve as the single point of contact for technical and program execution, and will be responsible for the achievement of cost, timing, performance and quality/warranty targets.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for meeting or exceeding EDM program deliverables and functional objectives (i.e. cost, timing, efficiency, performance, mass, NVH, and quality).Oversight of all aspects of the assigned EDM project for a given vehicle family (hardware, software, controls, calibration, packaging, prototype builds, validation, ED&D, DVPR, Statement of Work, Design Change Requests, etc).Lead the Propulsion System Development Process (PSDP) for the EDM ensuring product readiness for approved launches and support the technical reviews/evaluations with respect to program targets/milestones.

Develop execution plans and coordinate engineering milestones to support critical mule and pilot builds (i.e. qty, MRD, design content, calibration needs, etc).Responsible for ensuring program budget achievement identifying all possible efficiencies vs. approved business case.

Review, approve & track the EDM System DVP&R and support the development of the component DVP&Rs.

Co-lead proactive Risk Management tasks with the quality organization (i.e. DFMEAs, DFSS, LUR, Heat Map, Reliability Demonstration).Track & lead issue resolution (GIMs, plant build and production issues).Monitor quality metrics (e.g.
CQI, 3MIS, 12MIS, EPUS, JD
Power) for serial life EDM programs; lead root cause activities for field issues and implement containment actions to reduce warranty.

Support service engineering and MOPAR initiatives, review/approve service bulletins, RSUs and field action documents. Assist in developing service procedures/fault trees and resolution of service part supply issues.

Manage product lifecycle, including support of Supply Chain and Logistics issues to guarantee production continuity.

Technical Interface to Vehicle & PS Integration, AME, Purchasing, EE Core, ePT, Controls, Calibration, Quality, Suppliers and EE Systems.

Represent Chief organization in high level meetings as needed (Steering Committees, PRs, MRs, IH mtgs, PC-prep mtgs, VIT mtgs, etc).Lead technical reviews/evaluations and technical specification sign-offs. (Design Reviews).Coordination and implementation of Value Optimization (VO) activities.

Lead the technical responses and cost roll-ups to investigate/action bulletins that relate to the technology (i.e. piece cost, tooling, ED&D).
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics or related degree fieldA minimum of 8 years of experience in a related fieldStrong leadership and problem-solving skills with a bias for action and issue resolution.

Demonstrated application of Systems Engineering and knowledge of Functional Block Diagrams, Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Validation Plan and Report (DVP&R)Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presenting complex material to various audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced degree in with emphasis in electrical power conversion, electromechanical energy conversion, power electronics, and electrical machinesMaster of Business Administration (MBA), Program Management Professional (PMP) certification or other equivalent trainingDemonstrated working experience in decomposing intended function into requirements inclusive of many of the following: Electric drive systems, gear train systems, powertrain integration, high voltage electronics, low voltage electronics, motor controls, communication protocols, sensors, and softwareWorking experience in creation and execution of validation plans inclusive of the following: Electric Drive Units, Electric Machines, Inverters, Auxiliary Power Modules, and On-Board ChargersDemonstrated ability to effectively communicate and prepare presentations for Director/VP level leadershipCritical character traits to ensure success: Action Oriented, Dealing with Ambiguity, Customer Focus, Problem SolvingThe Candidate will support the Chief Engineer in oversight and execution of Electric Drive Modules (EDMs) across serial life and new (moderate/minor) launch applications.
