Overview TEKsystems is seeking an AV Engineer to support the testing, configuration, and commissioning of enterprise AV systems. This role focuses on conference rooms, boardrooms, training spaces, operations centers, and executive briefing environments. The AV Commissioner will work primarily in the final stages of projects, ensuring systems are installed correctly, programmed properly, and fully functional prior to customer handoff. This position works closely with Project Management, Installation, and Service teams to deliver high-quality, fully commissioned AV solutions across Microsoft Teams Rooms, Zoom Rooms, and Q-SYS platforms. Responsibilities Commission, test, and validate AV systems in enterprise collaboration spaces Configure and commission Q-SYS control and DSP platforms Perform system bring-up, functional testing, and audio/video tuning Configure Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms systems Set up and verify network connectivity including IP addressing, VLANs, QoS, and AV-over-IP systems Verify installed systems match project documentation and expected functionality Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve commissioning issues during installation closeout Provide field-level escalation support to Installation and Service teams Support system acceptance testing and punch-list resolution Deliver end-user training and operational handoff documentation as needed Maintain familiarity with current AV hardware, firmware, and software updates Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of overall AV industry experience, or 2+ years performing AV commissioning or systems engineering Strong hands-on experience commissioning Q-SYS control and DSP platforms Hands-on experience with Epson, Logitech, and D10 environments Proficiency in DSP configuration, audio tuning, and commercial audio systems Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms environments Familiarity with ZDM and WolfVision preferred Solid networking fundamentals including IP addressing, VLANs, QoS, and AV-over-IP Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues across hardware, control, audio, video, and network layers Excellent documentation and written communication skills Top Skills
