AMD, Inc., is hiring SMTS Product Development Eng. to Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Design and develop activities for a specific product or group of products (GPUs, CPUs, and/or related integrated circuit products) from product definition and planning through production, release and end of life. Lead multi-functional activities across design, platform, operations, and customer system bringup and manufacturing to meet product quality and reliability requirements. Tune design flows to achieve optimal yield, performance, area on a range of designs spanning CPU, GPU and SoC. Work with engineering teams across multiple products to schedule and implement identified improvements. Serve as the central resource with design, process, manufacturing, test, quality, and marketing as the product(s) move to production and distribution. Involvement lasts throughout all stages of a products lifestyle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the product or product line. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Drive projects or processes of significant technical importance. Exercise independent judgment to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results with little to no supervision. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.
Requirements:
Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field.

Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role. Employer will alternatively accept a Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role. Position requires four (4) years of experience in the following: Leading product quality projects in semiconductor industry; Programming in C, C++, or Python; JMP and Python scripting; ATE test plan development; Test plans creation and verification, data analysis and collection, and yield improvement; Utilizing Linux/Unix for test plan creations, test issues debugging, and test time reduction; and Improving device testing and reliability measurement capabilities.
