As a Lead Electrical Engineer - Digital Electronics, you will play a key role in shaping advanced digital hardware platforms—spanning FPGA, HDL, SoC, and other foundational digital technologies. Job Description Essential Responsibilities In this role, you will: Design and enhance digital electronic circuit boards and components, including FPGAs, ADCs, DACs, PLLs, SoCs, and related technologies. Develop
VHDL/HDL
code for FPGA‑based designs, including simulation, testbench creation, and hands‑on debugging. Lead digital design activities using established engineering methods and modern tools. Perform digital simulations and validate architectural concepts. Capture schematics using
GEHC ECAD
tools and provide oversight and approval for PCB layout. Guide PWA board bring‑up and lead system‑level hardware integration. Work both independently and collaboratively, applying your technical expertise to influence design direction and ensure high‑quality execution. Address design issues, component obsolescence, supplier changes, and supply chain requests. Develop detailed functional specifications and documentation supporting design implementation and product introduction. Define, execute, and review component verification, reliability growth plans, and design validations. Lead and participate in technical design reviews, risk assessments, and FMEA activities. Partner with internal teams—Engineering, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Quality, Service, and others—to align on program requirements and technical goals. Collaborate with external suppliers to develop prototypes and manage prototype build logistics. Create innovative hardware solutions that meet performance, reliability, cost, manufacturability, and serviceability targets. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. 5+ years of hands‑on experience in FPGA design (VHDL) and digital design. Proficiency in schematic capture (Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, Altium) and experience overseeing mixed‑signal PCB layout. Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively within cross‑functional teams. Preferred Qualifications (These are helpful but not required. IEC60601
‑1 or equivalent safety standards in regulated industries. Knowledge of UL, ETL, and IEC standards relevant to electronic designs. Demonstrated ability to develop creative or novel technical solutions. Experience with EMC‑compliant design practices. DFSS or Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification. Experience in medical device development or support (e.g., CT, PET, X‑Ray, or GEHC products). Familiarity with ISO, FDA, and other regulatory standards. Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills. Ability to lead and contribute in global, cross‑functional environments.
