BESS Commissioning Supervisor

BESS Commissioning Supervisor Remote | Up to 25% Travel (U.S.) Step into a high‑impact role at the forefront of the global clean energy transition. As a BESS Commissioning Supervisor , you'll work with one of the world's largest Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) developers to ensure successful startup, testing, and performance validation of cutting‑edge energy storage and solar‑plus‑storage assets. In this role, you serve as the Owner's Representative , overseeing safety, compliance, commissioning, and onsite testing activities. You'll collaborate with SCADA, engineering, construction, and utility partners to bring large‑scale energy projects online—safely, efficiently, and with exceptional quality. Assist Transmission Operators with GIA testing and interface. Manage and communicate test energy forecasts with customers. Collaborate with the

Team and SCADA PM/Lead on system functional checks. Work with SCADA Integrators and Commissioning PMs to build commissioning schedules aligned with mechanical completion. Execute site acceptance testing (SAT) with SCADA and commissioning teams. Support CEWIS Critical Point Checkouts , including alarm validation. Perform OEM testing, plant balancing, capacity testing , and AGC/AVR support notifications. Analyze performance data to identify deficiencies and optimization opportunities . What You Bring Deep understanding of BESS installation, startup, and commissioning . Experience developing and executing commissioning processes . Knowledge of containerized systems, skids, controllers, SCADA, transformers, and combiners . Expertise in both DC (0-2,000 Vdc) and AC (480 V-34.5 kV) power systems. Proven ability to troubleshoot control systems and SCADA . Strong organizational skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent communication skills to work with contractors, operators, customers, and executives. Ability to effectively plan, strategize, and manage complex commissioning schedules . Preferred Experience Background in engineering or professional electrical roles within power systems construction/startup. Commissioning experience on 100MWh+ projects or at least five completed BESS systems . Direct hands‑on experience with BESS is mandatory . SCADA system proficiency is strongly preferred . Work Environment This is a primarily remote role , supported by SCADA monitoring activities, with up to 25% travel to U.S. project sites for commissioning and testing. Candidates must be able to operate a motor vehicle and travel between designated work locations as needed.
