Duties:
Do you have an eye for detail and a passion for developing innovation solutions? Join our client's team! Mass Properties engineers on our customers site research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy and support cutting edge products & services. These cover a very wide range from state-of-the-art mission payloads and electronic systems through highly integrated aircraft. You'll be responsible for taking a leading role in developing weight control plans on a large aircraft modification. Your technical responsibilities involve supporting multiple programs across SNC from a mass properties perspective, from conceptual design studies to large aircraft modification programs, to quick-reaction upgrades. You will generate mass properties databases to track weight and CG estimates, and support aircraft weighing, as well as ensuring that the right mass properties reporting is communicated across the team and to external customer and suppliers in an effective and timely manner.Skills Must-haves:
- Thorough knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
- Deep knowledge of SAWE Recommended Practices RP-7 and RP-8.
- Experience with aircraft weighing and associated forms and charts.
- Experience with conceptual level design support and parametric modeling.
- Experience building mass properties estimates from CAD data.
- Author for weight and balance reports.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary design & development teams.
Preferred:
- Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS) training within the previous three years.
- Completed Aircraft Weight & Balances Course (computer & practical) (AETC or equivalent) within the past 3 years.
- Familiarity with Commercial Derivative Aircraft (CDA) for military programs.
- Experience with Dassualt 3DX and/or SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of industry standard aerospace principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, fundamentals of flight mechanics.
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, US Department of Defense and/or US Military.
Education Must-haves:
- Bachelors of Science degree in a related discipline and typically 10 more years of relevant experience Belcan is an equal opportunity employer.
