The Propulsion Analysis team is responsible for developing and maintaining analytical methods used to predict, evaluate, and optimize aircraft propulsion system performance throughout the product lifecycle.

The team's focus includes engine performance modeling, cycle analysis, transient engine behavior, engine starting characteristics, inlet distortion and recovery, nozzle performance, thrust reverser performance, and compliance with regulatory requirements related to propulsion systems. The group supports both ongoing aircraft programs and future technology development efforts.

A key area of responsibility is the development of advanced cycle analysis and off-design simulation capabilities used to evaluate propulsion system behavior over a wide range of operating conditions. The team develops analytical tools, improves modeling methodologies, and performs trade studies to support aircraft design and performance evaluations.

The Propulsion Analysis team collaborates closely with Aircraft Performance, Powerplant Integration, Flight Sciences, Aerodynamics, and Systems Engineering organizations to ensure successful integration of propulsion technologies into Gulfstream aircraft.

The selected student will gain hands-on experience in engine cycle analysis, propulsion system modeling, aircraft performance evaluation, advanced simulation techniques, and certification-related activities. The intern will contribute to real engineering projects while receiving mentorship from experienced technical leaders.

Typical Responsibilities Support development and maintenance of engine cycle simulation models.

Perform off-design engine performance analyses and trade studies.

Analyze engine and aircraft performance data.

Support studies related to fuel consumption, thrust performance, operability, and mission analysis.

Assist with validation of analytical models using available test or flight data.

Document methods, assumptions, and analysis results for engineering use. Education and Other Requirements Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher

Must be available to work on-site in Savannah, GA during the Spring 2027 semester

Must be enrolled as a full-time student at the time of application and actively pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher. Completion of sophomore year is required. prior to the internship start date. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (without rounding); must be listed on resume.

Rotation Requirements:

Juniors - 2 rotations; Seniors & Graduate Students - 1 rotation.

Minimum duration:

12 weeks (summer); 14-16 weeks (spring and fall). Must be onsite; this is not a remote position. Must have reliable transportation. This job requires one to be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
