Job Description

We are seeking a collaborative, solutions-focused Irrigation Energy Engineer to join our Energy Trust of Oregon team serving the agriculture and manufacturing sectors in Oregon. This is both a technical and relationship-heavy field engineering position that will promote Energy Trust of Oregon's energy efficiency offerings to customers, contractors, vendors, distributors, and community organizations. This multidisciplinary role combines local outreach and project engineering to help customers identify and complete energy-saving projects, with a primary focus on the agriculture sector and a secondary focus on industrial customers.
Key Details:
Location:
Bend, OR and surrounding areas preferred. Other locations in central and southern Oregon will be considered. Relocation assistance is provided.
Travel:
Travel to contractor and customer sites in central, eastern, and southern Oregon; approximately 40% of the time.
Pay:
Full base pay range is $85,000 - $140,000 commensurate with skills and experience. Our target hiring range is at or below mid-point to allow for growth and internal equity. All positions are eligible for an annual bonus and profit share on top of base pay.

Position Overview:
The Irrigation Energy Engineer is a technical, outreach-forward role focused on helping irrigation vendors, contractors, and customers move energy efficiency opportunities from initial lead to completed project. This person will serve as a trusted field resource, building relationships across central, eastern, and southern Oregon while developing expertise in efficient irrigation and agricultural systems. The role is well suited for a self-starter who enjoys learning technical details, solving practical problems, and collaborating with a wide range of people in the field and internal teams. What you'll do: Collaborate with contractors, customers, and internal teams to identify and assess energy efficiency projects at agricultural customer sites. Perform energy engineering analyses on irrigation, agriculture, and industrial mechanical systems. Manage project pipelines, including schedules, follow-up actions, savings estimates, incentives, and documentation deadlines. Conduct regular calls, field visits, joint customer meetings, presentations, trainings, and attend industry events. Proactively engage contractors and vendors to increase awareness of Energy Trust's Industry & Agriculture energy efficiency incentive offerings; identify and overcome barriers to participation. Collaborate with distributors to promote energy efficient products to contractors, vendors, and Energy Trust Trade Allies. Maintain accurate, timely records in Salesforce and use Microsoft-based tools collaboration with internal teams and regular reporting. Work closely with account managers, engineering, project processing team, marketing, and other program partners to provide a seamless customer and contractor experience. Write technical reports for non-technical audiences.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a technical, solutions-focused team player who is energized by engaging the community to help industrial and irrigation contractors participate in energy efficiency incentive programs. Ideal candidates will have some of the following skills and experience: Engineering degree and/or great experience required Experience in energy efficiency or mechanical engineering fields Experience with the local industrial and agricultural contactor network, agriculture technical services, and/or contractor account management Working knowledge of irrigation and industrial mechanical systems Experience modeling mechanical systems and quantifying annual energy savings Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and CRM systems such as Salesforce. Excellent data analysis skills An energetic self-starter with excellent organizational, scheduling, and planning skills An organized, proactive, and solutions-focused approach to account management An outgoing person who is excited to make new connections; adaptable to dynamic settings Capability of working autonomously with good project & time management skills Excellent writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills Energy 350 is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
