Job Description

Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES), an industry leader with a reputation for excellence in providing environmental consulting, engineering, compliance, and technical field services to clients in diverse market sectors, seeks a motivated and talented Stream Restoration Engineer to join our growing Ecological Restoration team. As a Stream Restoration Engineer at GES, you'll work alongside a team of engineers, ecologists, fluvial geomorphologists, and other stream and wetland scientists to support stream and wetland restoration projects, natural channel design, and ecological engineering. This position is based out of our Richmond, VA office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide support and design on complex engineering design, stream restoration and other ecological restoration design. Must be capable of prioritizing and integrating various complex tasks and working collaboratively on a team. Support data acquisition and assessment, monitoring, and evaluation of data used for the design of ecological restoration. Must have excellent communication, technical writing, problem solving, decision-making, and analytical skills. Classes and/or knowledge of natural channel design, wetland restoration design, geo-morphic assessment, computer-based data analysis and design. Actively contributes to the identification of new technical initiatives and opportunities. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local statutes, regulations, or policies, insuring technical integrity of project execution. Adhere to safety standards and company policies and procedures. Must maintain professional licenses and certifications. Attend professional development training. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or team.
Requirements:
B.S. Civil or Agricultural Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university 1 to 5+ years of project-related environmental experience Engineer in Training (EIT) certification is preferred H&H modeling/analysis (preferred) Experience and familiarity with the following software programs: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Arc Pro, HEC, HEC
RAS, HEC
HMS, RiverMorph, etc. Rosgen Stream Class (es) or similar natural channel design or ecological restoration Experience in Cross Section and long profile surveys Field Stream Geomorphic Experience (BEHI, NBS, etc.) Stream Gauge Analysis Understanding of design plan development and site plan submittals Our comprehensive benefits program includes: medical, dental, vision, prescription, 401k, FSA, STD, LTD, New Parent Leave, 529 CollegeBound Fund, Tuition Assistance, Bonus Plan, and more.
