$5,016.80 / Bi-Weekly What you will be doing: In this role, you will lead the end-to-end delivery of high-priority transportation projects across Alaska, guiding work from early concept through construction. You will operate outside traditional regional silos to accelerate project outcomes, develop delivery strategies tailored to rural and remote environments, and ensure coordination across planning, environmental, design, right-of-way, and construction functions. You will serve as the single point of accountability for assigned projects, with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, alignment, and execution. This includes coordinating technical teams, partnering with Alaska Native Tribes, Tribal Transportation Programs, rural communities, and federal partners, and translating program priorities into actionable project plans. You will also support innovative delivery approaches, field-informed decision making, and disaster response or recovery efforts when transportation systems are disrupted. This role requires strong leadership, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented mindset to deliver high-impact projects that keep Alaska connected. Our organization, mission, and culture: The State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) is committed to our mission: Keep Alaska Moving. We plan, design, construct, and maintain transportation systems across the state while coordinating closely with federal, state, local, and community partners. As we modernize, we are focused on building a transportation system that is adaptable, resilient, and responsive to Alaska's unique challenges. Our success is grounded in collaboration, communication, and coordination. We prioritize teamwork, shared resources, and strong partnerships with communities and the private sector to deliver results that serve all Alaskans. The Frontier Infrastructure Program reflects this approach—advancing a more integrated, flexible, and partnership-driven model for delivering infrastructure. This position operates within the Commissioner's Office and plays a key role in accelerating project delivery by working across traditional boundaries. The working environment you can expect: Depending on the selected candidate, this position can be filled in Fairbanks, Anchorage or Juneau. The work is fast-paced and impactful, often involving accelerated timelines, evolving project scopes, and coordination across multiple agencies and levels of government. Projects may carry high visibility, requiring collaboration with executive leadership, stakeholders, and the public, while also navigating first-of-their-kind approaches to infrastructure delivery in frontier environments. You can expect a role that demands adaptability, resourcefulness, and strong leadership, including supporting response and recovery efforts when transportation systems are disrupted. This is an environment where a proactive mindset and a bias toward action are essential to successfully deliver projects that serve communities across Alaska. The benefits of joining our team: Joining the Alaska Department of Transportation & Public Facilities (DOT&PF) offers the opportunity to build a meaningful, long-term career while contributing to projects that keep Alaska connected.
