On-site, Berkeley, CA Contract- 3 + months A Technical Project Manager, Test Infrastructure job opportunity is open with our client in Berkeley, Ca. In the role you will be directly responsible for the coordination, scheduling, and execution of the design and build-out of custom electrochemical and electromechanical test infrastructure across R D and manufacturing sites. To be considered for this role you will have 5+ years of experience as a TPM or Project Manager managing the build-out of physical engineering assets, laboratory capabilities, or complex industrial test infrastructure. Job Duties- You will sit at the intersection of Hardware Design, Test Engineering, Facilities, and Operations.
- Responsible for the coordination, scheduling, and execution of the design and build-out of custom electrochemical and electromechanical test infrastructure across R D and manufacturing sites.
- You will orchestrate the rollout of foundational infrastructure supporting EVT electrochemical testing and electromechanical reliability platforms, ensuring our laboratory capabilities scale in lockstep with our breakthrough battery technology.
- Own the master schedule, milestones, and critical path for the design and construction of specialized electrochemical and electromechanical test infrastructure.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts between Mechanical, Electrical, and Systems Engineers, Facilities leads, and external fabricators to deliver turnkey test assets.
- Manage timelines with external vendors and internal technicians for the delivery of critical components.
- Ensure operational readiness by unblocking build-out hurdles and tracking the progress of facility retrofits and equipment commissioning against product development phases.
- Establish rigorous tracking for infrastructure-related risks, including long-lead equipment procurement and technician resource constraints.
- Collaborate with Test Operations to ensure hardware delivery and build plans match test allocation requirements and design release dates.
- Provide clear, data-driven progress updates and risk mitigation plans to leadership regarding laboratory capacity and capital equipment timelines. Knowledge/Skills/Experience/ Education
- 5+ years of experience as a TPM or Project Manager managing the build-out of physical engineering assets, laboratory capabilities, or complex industrial test infrastructure.
- Proven track record of managing mechanical and electrical assembly projects, including vendor management for custom fabrication and large-scale equipment procurement.
- Strong foundational understanding of facilities integration, environmental chambers, and the hardware dependencies involved in electrochemical or energy storage testing.
- Prior experience navigating regulatory or safety requirements for physical laboratory spaces and custom industrial test stands.
