This position is responsible for driving engineering excellence, supporting operational performance, and ensuring alignment between customer requirements and manufacturing capability. Reporting directly to the DVP, Business Manager - Interconnect, this leader will champion continuous improvement, develop high-performing teams, and deliver measurable results in cost, quality, and delivery. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Sustaining Engineering team, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and a high-performance culture.
  • Drive execution of engineering projects and initiatives, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in alignment with business objectives.
  • Champion operational excellence through Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), cost reduction, and process optimization efforts.
  • Implement and sustain continuous improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, DMAIC) to improve quality, efficiency, and throughput.
  • Develop, standardize, and optimize manufacturing processes for hermetically sealed packages, connectors, and assemblies.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Sales, and Supply Chain to meet customer requirements and business goals.
  • Serve as a primary technical interface with customers, supporting issue resolution, product improvements, and new opportunities.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for complex engineering and production challenges.
  • Ensure effective engineering systems, documentation, and governance are in place to support scalable operations.
  • Support capital planning and execution, including equipment selection, justification, and implementation.
  • Utilize data and analytics to drive informed decision-making and continuous process improvement. Personal Qualities and Attributes

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).
  • 3+ years of engineering leadership or management experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of glass-to-metal sealing processes, precision machining and manufacturing operations, and production flow/industrial engineering principles.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex engineering projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and structured problem-solving methodologies (certification preferred).
  • Proficiency in CAD and SolidWorks.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive organizational alignment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
