Your Opportunity Stantec specializes in Civic Facility design work throughout California and North America, planning and designing administration, operations and maintenance facilities,, police and fire stations, emergency operations/data centers, and similar facilities for State, county, municipal clients, as well as utility districts.. We provide a unique opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary office, connecting our architects and engineers from all over the World. Our San Franciso office is seeking an Architect to join our Buildings practice. The successful candidate will have experience with local municipalities, county, and public entity projects. Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee a large team of architects and engineers, both internally as well as external consultants;
- Work closely with Project Managers to forecast and develop project schedules and coordinate delivery deadline sequences.
- Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
- Contribute to and manage multiple cloud-based organizational platforms;
- Develops documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections and details.
- Manages and leads project coordination and meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner, contractor, and sub-contractors.
- Ensure that project documentation adheres to applicable codes, criteria and jurisdictional requirements.
- Participates in bidding and negotiation phase and prepare addenda.
- Participates in client project requirement meetings and value analysis and basic cost estimating
- Coordinates the preparation of the project specifications. Coordination of specs with construction documents.
- Reviews shop drawings and submittals, responds to RFIs, prepares site observation reports and other contract administration tasks.
- Visit project sites and with clients as necessary
- Participates in constructability review.
- Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects.
- Ability to work well under pressure, juggle, and prioritize multiple projects and adjust accordingly, often against tight deadlines. Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Experience leading a design team through effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize projects from schematic design through construction phase services.
- Previously have collaborated across project teams during design and construction phases.
- Requisite knowledge and application of accessibility codes, applicable building codes.
- Detailed understanding of all phases of architectural document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- General knowledge of building construction systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Skilled at identifying and solving process issues.
- Technically detailed and proficient in creating construction documents for all design phases.
- To check own work for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
- To engage in creative and critical thought.
- To hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
- To interpret sketches, drawings, building program and other similar material.
- Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUP, Newforma, Sefaira and Bluebeam. Education and Experience
- Master's degree in Architecture or bachelor's degree in support of licensure criteria required.
- Registered Architect in California. LEED Accreditation preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience preferred.
- Architectural experience in transit facilities is a plus.
Pay Range:
- Locations in
NYC & CA
(Bay Area) & NJ (RP- $108,000.00
- $156,600.00 Annually
Pay Transparency:
- In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
