ABOUT US ASC
Process Systems is a leader in building autoclaves and ovens used by top aerospace manufacturers around the world. Founded in 1988 and based in Santa Clarita, ASC is known for its advanced equipment, long-standing industry reputation, and CPC, its industry-leading control system. At ASC, we believe great work starts with a strong team. We value safety, a positive attitude, leadership, teamwork, eagerness to learn, efficiency, and taking pride in delivering quality work.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Controls Engineering Planner to coordinate scheduling for our Controls Engineering team across both in-house and field projects. In this role, you will manage engineer assignments, adjust schedules as project needs evolve, identify potential conflicts, and help ensure resources align with project timelines, shop activity, and customer expectations. You will serve as a central point of contact for scheduling updates, working closely with Controls Engineers, project managers, and department leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys planning, problem-solving, working with data, and keeping multiple priorities moving forward in a fast-paced technical and manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable with computer systems, and committed to following open items through completion.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build, maintain, and update the schedule for all Controls Engineers across in-house and field jobs, ensuring assignments reflect current project timelines, priorities, and resource availability. Process schedule changes and reschedules as they arise, including project delays, urgent requests, engineer availability changes, conflicts, and shifting priorities, and communicate updates promptly to affected project managers, engineers, and managers. Proactively flag scheduling risks (overlaps, gaps, overloaded engineers) and work with the Controls Engineering Manager to resolve them. Serve as the central point of contact for schedule status, fielding scheduling questions and requests from project managers and engineers. Develop a working knowledge of ASC equipment and service processes to effectively support the department. Perform all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. 3+ years of experience in an administrative, coordinator, project-support, scheduling, or similar role is preferred. Relevant college education (technical, engineering, or business) is a plus, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and demonstrated ability will also be considered. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, including sorting, filtering, basic formulas, and maintaining structured data. Familiarity with MS Project and basic exposure to AutoCAD or schematics is a plus. Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, multitasking, and time-management skills, including the ability to investigate discrepancies while meeting deadlines. Clear and professional communication skills and the ability to work independently, follow established processes, protect confidential/customer information, and escalate issues appropriately. Comfortable working in an office within a heavy manufacturing environment and regularly interacting with engineers, technicians, production employees, and customers. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with a proactive, "go-getter" attitude.
