We work with homeowners, architects, interior designers, builders, and developers throughout Southern California. The Role We are seeking a hands-on Principal Design & Operations Manager to lead design development and oversee projects from concept through production, delivery, and installation. This position reports directly to the founders and may manage the Design Manager and other design team members. Responsibilities Lead the design of high-end kitchens, cabinetry, closets, and furniture systems. Manage the Design Manager and oversee design quality, accuracy, and workflow. Create and review layouts, drawings, 3D models, renderings, and presentations using SketchUp. Interpret architectural plans, field measurements, appliance specifications, and client requirements. Specify finishes, materials, hardware, accessories, and internal components. Prepare and review estimates, proposals, specifications, and production orders. Coordinate technical details and procurement with Italian manufacturers. Manage approvals, ordering, international shipping, receiving, warehousing, and delivery. Oversee project schedules, budgets, margins, milestones, and documentation. Select, schedule, and oversee third-party installers and construction contractors. Resolve design, production, delivery, and installation issues. Conduct quality-control reviews throughout each project. Maintain organized project files, revisions, selections, and client approvals. Improve internal processes for design, estimating, ordering, and project tracking. Ensure a seamless experience for clients, architects, designers, builders, and vendors. Required Qualifications Minimum three years of direct kitchen/cabinetry design or cabinetry manufacturing experience Strong proficiency in SketchUp Experience preparing detailed estimates, proposals, and production-ready orders Strong knowledge of cabinetry construction, residential construction, and installation Ability to read architectural plans and verify field measurements Experience coordinating vendors, third-party installers, contractors, and multiple projects Strong leadership, communication, organization, and client-service skills Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail Portfolio of relevant kitchen or cabinetry work Preferred Qualifications Experience using 3CAD Experience with European cabinetry and furniture manufacturers Familiarity with Veneta Cucine, Sangiacomo, Tumidei, or similar Italian brands Experience coordinating international procurement and logistics Fluency in Italian or Russian Compensation $50,000 annual base salary 2.5%-5% commission on applicable product sales Expected total annual compensation of up to $125,000 , based on earned commissions Actual compensation will depend on project volume, qualifying sales, and the applicable commission rate.
