Job Description
About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality assurance and quality engineering activities for a manufacturing operation. This individual will oversee the Quality Management System (QMS), lead a quality-focused team, and partner with operations, engineering, customers, and suppliers to drive continuous improvement and ensure consistent product quality. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive manufacturing, steel stamping, metal forming, or high-volume manufacturing , along with hands-on experience with Automotive Core Tools. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop the Quality Engineering and Quality Assurance functions. Maintain and continuously improve the facility's Quality Management System. Lead customer quality issues, investigations, corrective actions, and complaint resolution. Manage supplier quality initiatives and performance improvement activities. Lead root cause analysis using 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone , and other structured problem-solving methodologies. Develop and maintain APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, SPC, and Control Plans . Lead internal, customer, and third-party quality audits. Support new product launches, process development, and new product introduction activities. Monitor key quality metrics, including FPY, customer complaints, scrap, rework, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) . Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve processes, reduce defects, and drive continuous improvement. Promote Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and data-driven quality improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with applicable customer, industry, and quality requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering , or a related technical field. 5-7+ years of progressive Quality Engineering/Quality Assurance experience in a manufacturing environment. 3+ years of leadership or management experience overseeing quality personnel.
