Position Summary:
Aetna is seeking an Executive Director, Product Alignment and Execution to drive cross-functional alignment within the Commercial Product organization. This role connects strategic priorities to coordinated execution across product leadership, sales, finance, and enterprise partners. Working closely with the VP, Commercial Product, the Executive Director will enhance leadership cadence, elevate decision-making, and translate commercial and financial insights into action—ensuring product priorities align with growth strategy, market impact, and overall Commercial business objectives.Key Responsibilities:
Serves as a strategic partner to the VP, Commercial Product, connecting long-term priorities to execution and enterprise outcomes while helping shape direction across the organization. Defines key objectives, process, and KPIs to execute the Commercial Product Strategy. Serves as a key representative for Commercial Product in Aetna and Enterprise Commercial strategy development and executive forums, connecting product priorities to enterprise direction. Advances Commercial Product strategy through participation in industry forums and client and consultant market engagements, reinforcing thought leadership and market relevance. Drives performance management disciplines, measurement routines, and organizational alignment mechanisms that raise the level of execution across Product. Leads the leadership operating rhythm for the Product organization through staff meetings, working groups, and enterprise-facing forums that improve alignment and execution. Translates financial insight into action through close partnership with finance leadership, clarifying risks, dependencies, investment tradeoffs, and value creation opportunities to inform stronger decisions and execution. Owns executive readiness for the VP, Commercial Product across leadership reviews, business updates, and external engagements.Qualifications:
The candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a self-starter, and be able to be highly productive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. This position offers broad exposure to all aspects of the company's business, as well as significant interaction with all the business leaders. The candidate will be expected to have the following key attributes: 15 + years of leadership experience with deep functional expertise in product strategy, commercial product management, business strategy, finance partnership, and cross-functional execution. Proven end-to-end product leadership experience spanning product strategy, development, management, optimization, and value creation, including the application of AI and system enhancements to improve performance, scalability, and market impact. Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with a high degree of organizational visibility and complexity. Strong business and financial acumen, with the ability to translate strategic and financial insight into decisions, tradeoffs, and execution plans. Proven ability to influence senior leaders and enterprise stakeholders in a highly matrixed environment. Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to distill complex ideas into clear narratives, presentations, and leadership updates. Demonstrated success driving organizational alignment, operating discipline, and accountability across multiple stakeholders and workstreams. Demonstrated relationship management skills with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders across the enterprise. Proven ability to represent the business effectively in leadership forums and with external stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and market-facing partners. Experience leading product strategy and execution in a large, matrixed enterprise environment required; experience in healthcare or other highly regulated industries is a plus.Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Pay Range The typical pay range for this role is: $131,500.00 - $303,195.00 This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
