Job Description
We are looking for a Portfolio Solutions Team Lead to be located in our office located in O'Fallon, MO, Alpharetta, GA OR Chicago, IL. Your Team Allianz Commercial (AzC) specializes in corporate property insurance for the most complex and challenging risk exposures in more than 200 countries and territories. The Impact You Will Have Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Solutions and Delegated Authority - North America, the Portfolio Solutions Team Leader will serve as a working people leader responsible for building, leading, and developing the analyst bench that keeps the Portfolio Solutions function operating at scale. This role will oversee day-to-day leadership of Portfolio Solutions Analysts, including assigning work, developing capabilities, managing performance, and maintaining a high standard for quality and turnaround. In addition to leading the team, this role will stay personally engaged in execution, including facility onboarding, bordereaux processing and reconciliation, data validation, portfolio profitability monitoring, and cross-functional project delivery. The Team Leader will help ensure new business is onboarded correctly, existing programs are monitored rigorously, and the function's operating model continues to scale without sacrificing control, quality, or governance. Some of your specific responsibilities could include Lead, coach, and develop a team of Portfolio Solutions Analysts by prioritizing workload, managing performance, building capability, and creating a scalable, well-documented operating model as the function grows. Personally lead onboarding and implementation for select delegated authority programs and facilities, ensuring timelines, dependencies, and operational requirements are clearly managed. Quality-check analyst work related to bordereaux processing, reconciliation, and data validation before it reaches underwriting, finance, or other business stakeholders. Monitor portfolio profitability indicators, including loss ratios, rate adequacy, and exposure accumulation, and escalate deterioration or emerging risk to the Head of Portfolio Solutions. Represent Portfolio Solutions on cross-functional project teams supporting new program onboarding, process improvement, automation, and broader strategic initiatives. Own and maintain documented procedures, controls, and governance standards for onboarding, bordereaux processing, and portfolio monitoring. Identify operational risks, drive process improvement opportunities, and support automation initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and scalability. Coordinate closely with Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Actuarial, Legal, Compliance, Operations, IT, and PMO to support program execution and issue resolution. Support executive reporting on project status, portfolio performance, operational risk, and key initiatives across the Portfolio Solutions function. What you'll bring to the role Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring others, with the ability to prioritize work, manage performance, and build repeatable team processes. Strong portfolio management capability, including the ability to monitor performance indicators, identify trends, and escalate emerging risks. Experience with delegated authority, facilities, program business, MGA relationships, or similar insurance portfolio structures preferred. Strong understanding of bordereaux processing, reconciliation, data validation, and operational data management. 3+ years of leadership experience (preferred). Experience supporting onboarding, implementation, or cross-functional project delivery within insurance, underwriting, operations, or portfolio management environments. Ability to collaborate and influence across underwriting, claims, finance, actuarial, legal, compliance, operations, IT, PMO, and senior business stakeholders. Process-oriented mindset with experience improving workflows, documenting procedures, strengthening controls, and identifying automation opportunities. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a growing and evolving function. Familiarity with CAT modeling, portfolio monitoring, rate adequacy, exposure accumulation, or related profitability indicators preferred. Ability to utilize AI tools to support day-to-day tasks, improve efficiency, and contribute to data-driven decision-making. The annualized base pay range for this role is $97,739 - $147,652 for O'Fallon, MO and $107,913 - $163,96 for for Chicago, IL or Alpharetta, GA . The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package.
