In this role, you will work closely with the Chief Engineer, assisting in overseeing engineering projects and maintenance operations, and to be trained to step into the Chief Engineer position over the next 2-3 years. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in building maintenance engineering, HVAC systems, plumbing, and electrical maintenance, along with the aptitude and desire to grow into a leadership role. Responsibilities:
Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Support the management of junior engineers, providing assistance and learning leadership techniques under the Chief Engineer's guidance. Help develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure all equipment is properly maintained. Conduct inspections of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems alongside the Chief Engineer to identify potential issues and ensure optimal functionality. Troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems as needed, under supervision and as part of training. Assist in ensuring all electrical systems, including low and line voltage, meet operational & safety standards and operate effectively. Collaborate with other departments to align projects with organizational goals, gaining insight into cross-functional operations. Support the development and management of project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resources. Monitor and report on project progress, identifying issues and learning to address them effectively. Contribute to the implementation of new technologies and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs, while building expertise in innovation.Experience:
At least 7 years of experience in commercial office building engineering, HVAC systems, and maintenance (10+ years preferred but not required). Experience in project management and maintenance management is a plus. Experience in plumbing systems, electrical systems, including low and line voltage. Familiarity with logic controllers, pneumatics, and HVAC systems. Strong Mech/Elect/Plumb knowledge Required with hands-on experience and capability to perform industrial maintenance. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and eagerness to learn leadership skills. Solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication skills with potential for growth in leadership abilities. Bachelor's degree in a related field a plus.Skills:
