This leadership position will be responsible for resident engineering, project delivery, staff development, and strategic growth of construction management services across transportation, municipal, water, wastewater, and infrastructure markets. The successful candidate will work closely with leaders and technical staff across Sections and Groups as to expand client relationships, develop high-performing teams, and deliver exceptional project outcomes

Chicago, IL What You'll Do:
Lead the growth and strategic direction of Construction Management services throughout Northern Illinois. Oversee project delivery, staffing, quality management, and financial performance. Serve as Liaison Engineer / Resident Engineer on major construction projects Develop and maintain strong client relationships with IDOT, Illinois Tollway, counties, municipalities, transit agencies, and other infrastructure clients. Identify, pursue, and win new business opportunities. Lead proposal development, interviews, contract negotiations, and project pursuits. Mentor and develop project managers, resident engineers, construction managers, and inspection staff. Collaborate with Farnsworth groups including Transportation, Municipal, Water Resources, Water/Wastewater, and Land Development. Support recruiting, workforce planning, and succession development efforts. Represent Farnsworth Group within industry organizations and professional associations.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Professional Engineer license preferred. 15+ years of experience delivering construction management services on transportation, municipal, and/or infrastructure projects. Demonstrated experience leading construction engineering, inspection, or construction management programs. Experience working with IDOT, Illinois Tollway, CDOT, municipalities, counties, or other public agencies. Proven leadership, project management, and business development experience. Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Salary Range:
