About E&ES:
Caterpillar's Electrification & Energy Solutions (E&ES) Division will focus on delivering advanced electrified powertrains, zero-emissions products/technologies, and the solutions and services associated with these technologies. Job Summary:
The Power Conversion Controls Engineering Manager role will be responsible for leading power conversion controls design, development, simulation, and validation for stationary applications. The position will manage the team developing leveraged control features to support various electrified site solution architectures. The position will collaborate with a global team to solve technical problems and deliver on project goals, continually learn to stay abreast of innovative technology, and mentor team members. This role directly impacts Caterpillar current and future electrified powertrain products.
What you will do:
Manage a team of 8-10 controls engineers ensuring successful execution of projects, initiatives, & processes for power conversion controls design and development. Develop and manage multi-generational product plans (MGPP) for modular, scalable control features supporting various system architectures. Lead the controls development execution (design, development, simulation, and validation) throughout the NTI, NPI, and CPI program phases, providing technical leadership for concept studies, technical demonstrators, commercial demonstrators, and NPI programs. Provide technical leadership with accountability for controls development for chargers, power conversion systems, and microgrid content. Define and manage controls development process for efficient workflow, adaptability to change, and early requirements verification / learning to enable high quality product that meets aggressive delivery timeline and provides the optimal level of investment. Demonstrate strong communication skills with both technical and commercial acumen able to translate direct customer requirements into concept designs that exceed customer expectations. Collaborate with global process partners to deliver high quality products on time.
What you will have:
Degree required: BS in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Engineering or related curriculum.

Extensive experience and knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operational (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking:
Extensive experience and knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Effective Communications:
Extensive experience and understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Technical Excellence:
Extensive experience and knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges.
Customer/Market Focus:
Extensive experience and understanding of the importance of remaining aware of shifting market priorities and ability to respond to internal and external customer needs in a manner that consistently adds value.
Managing People:
Extensive experience and knowledge of processes involved in managing people; ability to lead successful teams, and diligently address issues related to performance and conflicts at the workplace. #

Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
