MYE), is one of the largest custom molding manufacturers in the United States. We are a full-service molder, focusing on recreational vehicles, marine, industrial, heavy truck and material handling markets. We manufacture a wide range of molded plastic products and complete product assembly to meet your specific design requirements. The Engineering and Quality Manager position is responsible for managing the engineering and quality teams that support the Myers manufacturing sites located in Bristol, IN. This position oversees the product design and development of new products as well as improvement of existing products including the active support of manufacturing processes to make quality products. This position is accountable for creating and maintaining focus on lean and continuous improvement mindset and measuring and improving internal and external targets including but not limited to throughput, machine efficiency, scrap, rework, customer complaints, returns, supplier quality. Duties and Responsibilities Lead the engineering and quality team to ensure their processes and work activities are effective and efficient. Manage the goal setting and performance reviews for assigned teams. Identify, plan and lead cross-functional capital and operations improvement projects. Train staff in newly developed processes and standards to ensure implementation is successful and is improve post its adoption. Apply continuous improvement methods such as lean manufacturing, six sigma and A-3 problem solving techniques to enhance manufacturing quality, reliability and cost effectiveness Oversee design, development, and successful implementation of control systems to improve production cycle times, product quality, equipment performance, down-time reduction, process automation and other process improvements to increase productivity. Oversee engineering quotation process. Accountable for new product launch activities and improvements to existing products for assigned sites. Develop, implement, and oversee quality management systems to ensure the team consistently delivers quality products. Communicate with customers and suppliers on quality related concerns, quality systems improvement, and continuous improvement projects Coordinate activities for customer production part submission and approval (PPAP) Plant representative for
ISO 9000 / ISO 14000
system Adhere to all company policies including safety standards. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field Ability to lead cross functional teams and projects Minimum of three years leading a team Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt designation a plus Quality Engineer Certification (CQE) a plus 5+ years related experience Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, sit; and use hands to type and write. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. Occasionally the employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and reach with hands and arms (e.g. climbing stairs, filing paperwork at, above, and below shoulder height). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects such as boxes of 15-25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus to watch video monitor.
