In this hands-on leadership role, you will guide the engineering team in design, development, and manufacturing processes while promoting efficiency, quality, and safety throughout the facility. Your leadership will strengthen collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to contribute to ongoing growth and operational excellence.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, implement and review procedures and equipment involved in the manufacturing process
  • Make determinations regarding equipment, staff and training needs
  • Hire, train and mentor Engineers and technicians
  • Analyze current production procedures and standards to identify inefficiencies
  • Provide management with data and statistics to enable management to understand future requirements needed for the manufacturing process
  • Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency
  • Provide troubleshooting expertise for manufacturing processes, tooling and machinery
  • Maintain quality by establishing and enforcing a quality program
  • Ensure the company's manufacturing processes are in compliance with all government laws and regulations
  • Review, and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing schedules and future production requirements to assist management in decision making
  • Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, monitoring personnel and resources, observing control points and equipment, facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process and machinery
  • Revise procedures by analyzing operating practices and implementing changes as required
  • Meet or exceed department productivity goals as set by upper management
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge required to perform all job functions
  • Communicate expectations for employee's performance, provide them with tools needed to perform and monitor to ensure compliance
  • Communicate with other employees and departments about work related processes
  • Identify employee issues and work toward solutions with the assistance of HR and upper management
  • Update information in Global Shop as necessary
  • Perform additional related duties as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS
  • Manage engineering employees, processes and process improvements
  • Ability to identify areas of process improvement
  • Ability to communicate job expectations, monitor and appraise results
  • Ability to effectively coach and counsel employees on performance and behavioral issues
  • Proficiency in CAD, Solidworks and root cause analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Reader
  • Ability to interview candidates and hire based on the values and skills the company requires.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 5-10 years' experience in manufacturing with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Experience prioritizing workload and staff assignments
  • Strong analytical, leadership, communication and decision-making skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Constant standing and walking
  • Frequent bending and stooping
  • Clean work environment
  • Safety training and other required PPE provided
  • Must submit to pre-employment drug screening and criminal background check
