Primary Purpose of Role:

The Manager, Operations is responsible for multiple lines and departments within Plant Operations. The Manager directly oversees one or more salaried supervisors with indirect management over a large group of hourly employees. The Manager is accountable for all production processes to be adhered to and continuously improve the performance in area of scope.

Key Responsibilities:

Participates in the selection, training, and development of new employees. Coach, develop, and support team members Manages personnel, material, and equipment safely and effectively. Meets production cost, schedules, and quality requirements through the utilization of established manufacturing processes and methods. Facilitates floor operations and removes barriers for supervisors and hourly employees to meet measurable objectives. Implements and maintains Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Operator Autonomous Maintenance execution, follow up and improvement. Engagement on machine condition continuous improvement Lead OEE improvement across all areas Serve as a leader, trainer, and coach of lean and TPM principles. Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization. Complies with the terms of the labor agreement.

Associate Degree and/or equivalent experience required

3+ years prior Supervisory experience in manufacturing setting

Preferred:

5+ years prior Supervisory experience in manufacturing setting

Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures. Oral and written communication skills. Knowledge of basic technology of area where assigned. Knowledge of scheduling and other management systems. Analytical ability for solving complex problems. Interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output. Knowledge of safety and environmental practices. Knowledge of quality control procedures. Strong computer skills. Ability to adapt to changes in responsibility based on business needs.

Leads a department, area, brand, or team. Manages lower-level supervisors or team of professional/technical employees . Frequently interacts with direct leadership and with peers of the same level or lower. Interactions generally within the same function but some cross function interactions. Experienced managerial level with responsibility for one or more activities within a department Manages professional employees or supervises large complex operations/teams. Accountable for the performance and results of a team within own discipline or function; conducts performance reviews and recommends pay actions. Areas of responsibility are typically unique within the department or function.
