This is a senior technical leadership opportunity for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) who has experience overseeing structural engineering and design work, solving complex engineering challenges, and providing technical guidance to engineering teams. The position works closely with engineering, production, fabrication, quality, operations, and field teams in an industrial construction and manufacturing environment. Position Summary The Engineering Manager will oversee day-to-day structural engineering and design activities, review technical work, support project schedules and budgets, and provide technical direction to engineers and design staff. Qualified candidates should have at least 8 years of structural engineering experience, an active PE license, and a strong technical background in structural concrete design and engineering. Experience with precast and/or prestressed concrete is required, although this experience may have been gained earlier in your career. Candidates should maintain enough technical knowledge in this area to review and oversee engineering work and provide guidance when needed. This position is primarily focused on technical engineering oversight, design review, problem-solving, project support, and technical leadership, rather than being solely a hands-on design position. What You'll Do Oversee day-to-day structural engineering and drafting activities across multiple projects. Provide technical oversight for structural, civil, and life-safety engineering and design. Review engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, designs, and other technical documents for accuracy and compliance. Provide engineering oversight for concrete structures and components, including considerations related to connections, lifting, handling, and installation. Work closely with production, fabrication, quality, operations, construction, and field teams to resolve engineering and constructability issues. Respond to RFIs, submittals, design revisions, and technical questions throughout the project lifecycle. Serve as Professional of Record or Structural Professional of Record on select projects when assigned. Manage and review specialized engineering work performed by outside engineering resources. Develop engineering standards, calculation tools, and design aids to improve consistency and efficiency. Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to engineers, interns, detailers, and design staff. • Required Qualifications Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required. Minimum of 8 years of structural engineering experience. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. Strong experience with structural concrete engineering and design. Professional experience with precast and/or prestressed concrete engineering/design. This experience may have been gained earlier in your career, provided you maintain the technical knowledge needed to review, oversee, and support this work. Experience providing technical direction, mentorship, or leadership to engineers, designers, detailers, or other technical staff. Knowledge of applicable structural design codes and standards, such as IBC, ACI, PCI, ASCE, and AISC. Experience with structural analysis/design software such as
ETABS, RISA, SAP2000, FEA
platforms, or similar programs. Must be a U.S. citizen; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications Experience with precast/prestressed concrete structures, components, connections, or structural systems. Experience with underground or buried concrete structures. Experience with lift/handling calculations, erection plans, connection design, or similar structural engineering considerations. Previous experience as an Engineering Manager, Engineering Supervisor, Lead Engineer, Senior Structural Engineer, Principal Engineer, or in a similar technical leadership role.
