Job Description Reporting Directly into the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the following: Lead, manage and develop a team of engineers responsible for project delivery, process design and technical documentation Drive standardized engineering methods and best practices to meet customer, quality and business requirements Oversee new and repeat project execution from initial design through first article and production release Manage estimating activities and ensure accurate costing, planning and handover to manufacturing using ERP systems Review engineering outputs to ensure manufacturability, quality, cost alignment and compliance with standards Provide technical leadership on tooling, process design, value engineering and cost‑reduction initiatives Ensure effective use of ERP systems for BOM control, configuration management, revisions and documentation Monitor project schedules, resource allocation and engineering capacity to meet delivery commitments Deliver regular status updates and reporting to senior engineering leadership Support and lead customer and supplier technical engagements, including site visits and presentations Facilitate continuous improvement activities, time studies and process optimization initiatives Mentor, coach and develop engineers through structured performance reviews, goal setting and career planning Evaluate new technologies and manufacturing processes to maintain competitiveness Maintain engineering standards, drawings, data management and departmental procedures MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline 10+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing or project‑based environment Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects from concept through production Demonstrated people management experience, with a track record of mentoring and developing engineers Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, forming, welding, machining and assembly Experience working with ERP systems for estimating, BOM management and project execution Proficient in 3D CAD software and standard office applications Solid understanding of engineering documentation, configuration control and GD&T principles Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage customers, suppliers and senior stakeholders Highly organized, detail‑oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously Self‑motivated, proactive and comfortable taking ownership in a fast‑paced technical environment What's on Offer Competitive compensation ranging from $160,000-$180,000 based on level of experience and responsibility A senior engineering leadership role with clear influence over projects, processes and people Exposure to complex, technically challenging manufacturing programs Opportunity to shape engineering standards and continuous improvement initiatives A collaborative environment that values expertise, accountability and professional development Long‑term career progression within an established engineering organization Ongoing training, development and exposure to new technologies and processes
