Summary :
We are seeking a subject matter expert that will be responsible for handling the most challenging and critical technical issues related to turbines, generators, gates, and BOP. The objective is to provide efficient and practical solutions, allowing design engineers to focus on meeting their project commitments.
Responsibilities :
As a subject matter expert, the majority of your work will involve prevention during the proposal and design phases of projects. This includes risk identification and mitigation, strategic technical decision-making, and orientation, sharing lessons learned, and providing training.
Proposal Phase:
Review and identify financial and scheduling risks at the proposal stage. Define technical execution strategies to mitigate risks (e.g., determine the need for transportation drawings, plan for non-explicit tasks, and optimize installation/manufacturing/engineering execution to reduce site work). Support the department manager in establishing or reviewing the completeness of the engineering delivery list/tasks.
Design :
Actively participate in defining the detailed execution strategy (e.g., layout review, engineering scope/delivery definition, task allocation). Participate in design reviews. Conduct/support design interface reviews and stack-up calculations. Record and communicate lessons learned and corrective/preventive measures. Serve as a reference and mentor for newer employees. Continuous improvement : Lead technical Root Cause Analysis (RCA) resolution
  • Engagement process initiated within engineering.
Identify and prevent recurring issue patterns. Conduct site and shop visits to troubleshoot complex or time-critical issues. Coach, mentor, and communicate lessons learned to the engineering team.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's of engineer Extensive knowledge and broad experience of electromechanical equipment use in hydroelectric power plants, from engineering to installation and commissioning Excellent networking abilities to be able to quickly reach out needed expert.
