Job Description
PSI-Polymer Systems is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a small team of approximately 3-4 engineers designing custom machinery and equipment for the plastics extrusion industry. This is a working manager position. The Engineering Manager will oversee engineering projects and provide direction to the engineering team while also actively participating in design work, troubleshooting, and project execution. Responsibilities Lead and provide daily direction to a team of 3-4 engineers Manage engineering workload, priorities, and project schedules Actively participate in mechanical design and engineering projects Review and approve drawings, designs, and project documentation Design and develop custom machinery and mechanical systems Work closely with Manufacturing and Sales to ensure equipment meets customer requirements Provide technical support and troubleshoot design or equipment issues Assist with continuous improvement and product development Support and develop engineering team members Qualifications Strong mechanical engineering and machine design experience Previous engineering leadership, supervisory, or project leadership experience Experience designing custom machinery, industrial equipment, or similar mechanical systems Proficiency with 3D CAD software; Autodesk Inventor experience preferred Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, materials, and mechanical components Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems, motors, sensors, controls, and electrical schematics Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Comfortable managing engineers while remaining actively involved in engineering projects Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field preferred
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Regular overtime, nights, and weekends are not required. This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys both design work and leading a small engineering team in a custom machinery environment.Job Type:
