Job Description
JSG is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager. Overview In this role, you'll lead the Mechanical Engineering function while staying deeply engaged in the technical work—driving sound design decisions, solving complex manufacturing challenges, and guiding projects from concept through detailed engineering and production support. You'll collaborate closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and customers to deliver solutions that meet performance requirements while balancing quality, cost, and schedule in a fast-paced, high-mix environment. Pay $130K Required Skills Proven ability to lead, coach, mentor, and develop mechanical engineering personnel (including setting priorities, assigning work, and performance management) Strong mechanical design expertise in gears, gear assemblies, shafts, bearings, and power transmission components Proficiency with SolidWorks Strong command of engineering drawings, tolerancing, and GD&T Experience with materials selection and mechanical analysis Demonstrated strength in problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions in a production environment Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining engineering rigor and documentation Clear, effective communication with cross-functional teams and customers (Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales, and leadership) Nice to Have Skills Experience in aerospace, defense, medical, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments Background developing or improving engineering standards, design practices, and documentation processes Strong application-facing experience supporting customer technical discussions, design recommendations, and issue resolution Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related engineering discipline) 8+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience, preferably in a precision manufacturing environment 3+ years of engineering supervisory/management experience with responsibility for leading and developing engineering teams Johnson Service Group, Inc.
