Professional Engineer (PE) -
Product & Structural Engineering Reports To:
Executive Management Position Overview A leading rolling steel door manufacturer is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to lead engineering design, product certification, structural analysis, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures all rolling door systems meet safety, performance, and code requirements while supporting product development, manufacturing, and customer engineering needs. Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Design & Analysis Perform structural calculations for rolling steel doors, guides, brackets, shafts, and support systems. Approve and stamp engineering drawings, load charts, and installation details. Conduct wind load, impact, and seismic analysis perIBC, ASCE
7, and local building codes. Oversee UL, ASTM, and fire‑rated product compliance. Product Development & Testing Lead engineering improvements for rolling doors, grilles, shutters, and custom assemblies. Develop and validate prototypes, materials, and mechanical components. Support R&D for new product lines and performance enhancements. Manufacturing & Technical Support Provide engineering guidance to production, fabrication, and quality teams. Review shop drawings, BOMs, and fabrication details for accuracy and manufacturability. Troubleshoot field issues and provide engineered solutions for complex installations. Regulatory & Compliance Maintain PE licensure and ensure all engineered documents meet state and municipal requirements. Prepare engineering packages for permit submissions and customer submittals. Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, UL, and industry standards. Customer & Project Support Work directly with architects, contractors, and project managers to interpret specifications. Provide stamped calculations, letters of certification, and technical clarifications. Support sales teams with engineering‑based product recommendations. Qualifications Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in NY (additional states a plus). Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Structural engineering. 5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, structural products, or building systems . Proficiency inCAD, FEA
tools, and engineering calculation software. Strong knowledge ofIBC, ASCE 7, UL
standards, and structural design principles. Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.Pay:
$95,000.00 - $135,000.00 per yearBenefits:
