Principal Engineer

Job Description Our Ft. Lauderdale based client is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to architect and build their core software platform. This isn't a maintenance role—you'll be building from the ground up, making foundational technical decisions, and shipping production systems that directly impact operations, customer experience, and business growth. You'll work alongside the CTO, product managers, and operations leaders to build customer-facing applications, internal tools, AI-powered automation, and the data infrastructure that ties it all together. If you thrive on ownership, move fast with AI-assisted development, and want to see your code in production—not buried in a backlog—this is the role.

Skills and Requirements 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in senior/staff/principal roles Proven experience in greenfield SaaS product development utilizing AI-driven solutions Proven track record shipping production applications end-to-end (not just contributing to large teams) Strong full-stack capabilities: you can build a React frontend, design a database schema, write backend APIs, and deploy to cloud infrastructure Proficiency with AI coding assistants (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) and ability to leverage them for 2-3x productivity gains Experience building integrations between SaaS platforms and custom applications Strong Python skills; comfortable with TypeScript/JavaScript ecosystem AWS experience (or equivalent cloud platform depth) Excellent communication skills; able to work directly with non-technical stakeholders Experience with complex billing systems, financial calculations, or fintech applications Startup or early-stage company experience where you wore multiple hats Experience building AI agents, LLM-powered applications, or RAG systems in production Background in operations software, logistics, scheduling optimization, or fleet management Mobile development experience (React Native or native iOS/Android) Data engineering background: ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, analytics infrastructure
