Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Programming and Tooling Supervisor to lead our manufacturing process improvements and tooling operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development, maintenance, and optimization of manufacturing tools, fixtures, and robotic systems to ensure efficient production workflows. Your leadership will drive continuous improvement initiatives, enhance manufacturing capabilities, and uphold the highest standards of quality and safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence the manufacturing environment through innovative programming, mechanical expertise, and strategic project management. Duties Supervise the programming, setup, and maintenance of automation equipment including robots, CNC machines, and vision inspection systems to maximize operational efficiency. Lead tooling design, fabrication, and troubleshooting efforts utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Creo to develop precise schematics and mechanical components. Coordinate project scheduling for tooling upgrades, process improvements, and new product launches to meet production deadlines. Conduct root cause analysis on equipment failures or process deviations to identify corrective actions that prevent recurrence. Oversee the integration of industrial engineering principles with process engineering to optimize manufacturing workflows in a plastics injection molding environment. Manage team activities related to welding, fabrication, assembly line adjustments, and industrial equipment installation while ensuring compliance with
ISO 9001
standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing techniques to reduce waste and enhance productivity across the manufacturing facility. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on schematic development, CAD modeling, CNC programming (including GDT and CAM), and robot programming for automation projects. Ensure all tooling and equipment meet safety standards by conducting regular inspections and maintaining detailed documentation of schematics and maintenance logs. Requirements Proven experience in factory or manufacturing facility environments with a strong background in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering. Expertise in project scheduling tools and methodologies to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo; experience with Schematics creation is essential. Hands-on knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), CNC programming (includingGDT & CAM
), robotics programming, vision inspection systems, and industrial equipment maintenance. Strong understanding of plastics injection molding processes combined with experience in tooling design, fabrication, assembly line setup, and fabrication techniques. Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively using structured problem-solving methods. Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies within a manufacturing setting. Mechanical knowledge related to welding, fabrication, CNC machining, CAD modeling, industrial equipment installation, and factory safety protocols. Excellent communication skills for team leadership and cross-departmental collaboration; ability to interpret technical schematics accurately.
