Job Description
The Mast Division Quality Assurance Engineer, plans, directs, oversees and executes activities related to manufacturing quality assurance and control, Engineering support and liaisons with customers on matters related to quality. Additionally, this position actively participates in and leads as appropriate the deployment of the Will Burt Quality Management System and continual improvement initiatives in the division.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following.- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
- Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have familiarity withISO 9001
2015 and AS9100 quality standards.- Quality Planning

- Nonconformance investigation, Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
- Managing and reporting of quality metrics
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Quality assurance and continual improvement certification are desired but not required, (e.g., ASQ certification, Six Sigma).EXPECTATIONS
- Have a fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems, methods, tools, standards, organizational and team dynamics, customer expectations and satisfaction, supplier relations and performance, leadership, training, interpersonal relationships, improvement systems and professional ethics.
- Have a fundamental understanding of a quality system and its development, documentation and implementation to domestic and international standards or requirements.
- Have a basic understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results and follow-up.
- Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving. (i.e-VOC, RMA and warranty programs)
- Plan, control and assure product and process quality in accordance with quality principles, which include planning processes, material control, acceptance sampling and measurement systems.
- Basic knowledge of reliability, maintainability, and risk management, including key terms and definitions, modeling, systems design, assessment tools and reporting. This will require working directly with Mast Engineers.
- Have a thorough understanding of problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques. This includes knowledge of management and planning tools, quality tools, preventive and corrective actions, and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements.
- Acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods across a spectrum of business environments to facilitate process analysis and improvements.
