Position Overview ANPC is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team in the design, integration, and civil certification of mission-critical airborne and ground-based surveillance and landing systems. This position bridges technical architecture and operational people leadership. You will own the systems engineering V-model lifecycle, guide system safety assessments, and drive embedded hardware and software products from early concept through formal FAA airworthiness certification. We are recruiting for candidates willing to live and work in the Hood River, Oregon area. Hybrid will be considered for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and grow a team of systems, verification, and safety engineers. Manage resource allocation, team performance, and professional development in a collaborative culture. Oversee top-down requirements flow-down, system architecture partitioning, interface definitions and bottom-up verification/validation traceability. Guide system safety assessments and establish Design Assurance Levels. Drive team deliverables to align with FAA civil airworthiness and safety standards. Serve as the primary technical bridge between Systems Engineering and discipline leads across Electrical, Mechanical, and Embedded Software teams to ensure proper requirement allocation. Partner with regulatory authorities, designated representatives, and customer stakeholders during formal certification milestones and technical reviews. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. (Master's Degree preferred). 7+ years of professional engineering experience in aerospace, avionics, or safety-critical defense systems, including 2+ years in a formal supervisory or team management role. Demonstrated experience navigating safety-critical product development frameworks, specifically

SAE ARP4754A / ARP4761, RTCA

DO-178C, or

RTCA DO-254.

Required Knowledge and Competencies Deep mastery of the systems engineering V-model lifecycle for complex embedded hardware and software architectures. Proven ability to define and optimize requirements management workflows using modern tools (e.g., DOORS, Jama, Cameo/SysML, or Jira/Confluence). Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical architectures into clear deliverables for executive leadership, regulatory bodies, and engineering teams. Preferred Qualifications:

Hands-on background in embedded software architecture, digital control systems, or RF/radar signal processing. Direct experience engaging with the FAA or civil aviation authorities during formal certification audits.
