On-site Ross Staffing has been retained by a prominent Tier 1 automotive manufacturer to recruit an Engineering Manager for its Erie operation. This is a highly visible plant leadership position with responsibility for manufacturing engineering, maintenance, facilities, and capital projects. The selected leader will inherit an experienced technical team and have the opportunity to strengthen engineering systems, improve equipment reliability, modernize manufacturing capabilities, and influence the long-term direction of the operation. The Opportunity The Engineering Manager will serve as the plant's senior technical leader and work closely with operations, maintenance, quality, safety, finance, suppliers, and corporate engineering. The role combines strategic leadership with practical execution. You will help establish the engineering roadmap while remaining engaged with the team and visible on the manufacturing floor.

Key priorities will include:

Strengthening equipment reliability and preventive maintenance performance Leading manufacturing process and equipment improvements Developing and executing the plant's capital investment plan Improving communication and accountability across engineering, maintenance, and operations Developing engineers, maintenance leaders, and technical personnel Supporting the plant's safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery objectives Building the technical capabilities required for future growth and modernization Key Responsibilities Lead the plant's engineering, maintenance, facilities, and technical services functions Develop, coach, and hold accountable a team of engineering and maintenance professionals Establish priorities and allocate technical resources based on operational needs Partner with plant leadership to improve safety, quality, equipment reliability, throughput, and cost performance Develop and manage capital projects involving manufacturing equipment, infrastructure, automation, facilities, and process improvements Oversee projects from business justification and capital approval through equipment selection, installation, commissioning, and production startup Manage project budgets, schedules, contractors, equipment suppliers, and technical deliverables Improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime Lead the resolution of complex equipment, process, tooling, controls, and facility issues Evaluate manufacturing technologies and recommend investments that improve plant capability Support continuous improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and waste-reduction initiatives Ensure engineering and maintenance activities comply with applicable safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements Develop performance measures and communicate project, maintenance, and engineering results to plant leadership Build strong working relationships across operations, quality, maintenance, finance, supply chain, and corporate functions What We Are Looking For Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline Progressive engineering leadership experience within a manufacturing environment Experience leading engineers, maintenance personnel, technical teams, or a combination of these functions Demonstrated success managing capital equipment or facility projects from concept through implementation Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, maintenance systems, process improvement, and plant operations Ability to balance immediate plant needs with longer-term engineering and capital priorities Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving capabilities Ability to work effectively with plant-floor employees, technical professionals, contractors, suppliers, and senior leadership Experience That Would Be Especially Valuable High-volume, automotive, metals, heavy industrial, or complex manufacturing CNC machining, forging, forming, heat treating, coating, or paint operations Equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, or CMMS systems Capital planning, equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning Automation, robotics, PLC-controlled equipment, and manufacturing controls Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, TPM, or structured continuous improvement ISO 9001 or
