Manager, Application Engineering The Manager of Application Engineering drives the creation and launch of advanced material solutions that power the world's most demanding technologies. This role sits at the intersection of innovation, customer insight, and product strategy-turning emerging application needs into breakthrough materials for aerospace, defense, energy, transportation, medical, and other performance?critical markets. Role Overview You will lead the full journey of new products-from early?stage ideation to market introduction-shaping next?generation alloys, powder technologies, and high?performance materials. Acting as a strategic connector between customers and internal development teams, you accelerate innovation, influence product direction, and help define the future of advanced materials. Primary Responsibilities

• Lead the innovation, development, and application of new products from concept through commercialization.
• Advise leadership on product and process development strategies that support long?term growth.
• Co?own the business development funnel to ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
• Contribute to organizational planning, product roadmaps, and development program goals.
• Drive cross?functional collaboration to define specifications, accelerate timelines, and deliver high?impact solutions.
• Support special projects and initiatives that advance the technical and commercial mission. Position Requirements
• Master's degree in Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in application engineering, product development, or technical marketing-ideally within metals, aerospace, or defense.
• Strong understanding of specialty alloys such as stainless steels, superalloys, and titanium, along with associated manufacturing processes.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly across engineering, commercial, and leadership audiences.
• Proven success collaborating across functions to drive development velocity and product clarity.
• Experience contributing to strategic planning and organizational direction.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort working with research data. Additional Expectations
