Position:
Landscape Designer / Estimator Reports to:
Operations Manager Primary Functions :
Managing all aspects of the company's design activities to include client contracts, evaluation of client needs, design concepts and adherence to approved design constraints. Establish a price range for the combination of recurring and project services described by the Proactive Sales Teams. Are you a creative individual who enjoys working with plants, and creating outstanding designs? Silvis Group, Inc. is looking for a Full and/or Part time Landscape Designer / Estimator. Our Residential designs include everything from lush front yards that boost curb appeal to dynamic outdoor kitchens. Our keen attention to detail and a deep understanding of aesthetic harmony enriches our comprehensive design process. We ensure that each project is a unique reflection of our clients' desires.
Competency Areas include:
Design Skills:
Able to produce planting, irrigation, drainage and hardscape plans and details from concept to completion. Ability to read, analyze and understand site maps and blueprints.
Estimating Skills:
Developing a cost estimate that identifies the necessary labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor support needed to deliver the work to customer expectations.
Green Industry Knowledge:
Have a thorough understanding of landscape services and products to accurately estimate and implement project designs and maintenance programs to efficiently handle the needs of the client.
Time Management:
Able to plan and efficiently schedule appointments and manage personal time to assure maximum productivity. Ability to proactively manage their schedule to accommodate both project and maintenance needs.
Presentation Strategy:
Understand the prospect's needs and want, their residential or commercial layout and decision-making process. Anticipate and answer objections for the internal team and the client as needed. Schedule and attend site meetings with the client during the design process as needed
Company Relations:
Build and maintain rapport and positive working relations with field, office and management personnel to resolve problems, exploit opportunities and maximize profits. Ability to resolve site problems during the installation phases as it pertains to the design process. Ability to conduct pre-install reviews with the project foreman and/or supervisor.
Purchasing:
Participate, when requested, with operations in vendor selection, timely purchase and deliver to assure prompt customer service.
Documentation:
In a timely fashion, prepare complete, clear and concise designs. Ability to maintain accurate records of client meetings for analysis during the design process.
Special Projects:
Provide support for any special projects as assigned by your manager. These special projects, at the determination of your manager, may or may not become part of this position's primary responsibilities.
Qualifications include:
Must have 5 years of landscaping / green industry experience Must have a minimum of an Associate's degree in a related field such as; landscape architecture, horticulture or environmental design. Or equivalent work experience Must have a working knowledge of local trees and plants Experience with Dynascape and/or CADD Must have reliable transportation to/from work Valid Driver's license Must be able to pass drug / background check according to our policy Must be able to provide a portfolio of past work that you have designed / estimated Well organized, detail oriented and highly motivated.
