Pennsylvania , Scranton Job Description We are seeking a high-potential Engineering Manager to lead and develop a team of engineers and designers within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer ready to step into leadership, driving both new product development and continuous improvement of existing product lines. You will work cross-functionally with product management, sales, and operations to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions while building a high-performing engineering team. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day engineering, CAD, and drafting activities supporting both new product development and existing product enhancements Oversee the creation, review, and approval of 2D drawings and 3D models to ensure accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with standards Establish and maintain CAD and drafting standards, best practices, and revision control processes Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives and customer needs Support the planning and execution of product development initiatives, ensuring performance, quality, and compliance with applicable standards Act as a technical resource for research, development, and problem-solving initiatives Oversee product design, prototyping, testing, and validation of components and assemblies Investigate and resolve manufacturing and field-related issues with a root-cause mindset Evaluate supplier components to ensure proper form, fit, and function Maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, and design databases Assist in managing engineering budgets and project timelines Provide technical support to sales teams, including product applications and competitive positioning Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction Support training efforts for internal teams, contractors, and external partners Leadership Responsibilities Mentor and develop engineers and drafters, strengthening both design and documentation capabilities Review and approve engineering drawings and CAD models, ensuring quality and consistency Provide guidance, feedback, and performance support to team members Assist in recruiting and onboarding engineering and drafting talent Promote a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented team culture Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline 5-8+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment Demonstrated leadership experience (project leadership, mentoring, or supervisory responsibility) Hands-on proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar) Strong understanding of drafting standards, GD&T, tolerancing, and design for manufacturability (DFM) Experience managing or reviewing engineering drawings, models, and revision control systems Exposure to HVAC, mechanical systems, or similar industrial products preferred Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, analytical approach Effective communication and ability to collaborate across departments Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Preferred Attributes Experience implementing or improving CAD standards and engineering documentation systems Familiarity with PDM/PLM systems for managing engineering data Aspiration to grow into senior leadership roles Experience with product development lifecycles and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) Ability to balance technical depth with business awareness email resume to scott.slater@gogpac.com All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
