full-time Project Manager - Drinking Water | Tampa, FL The Opportunity A well-established, employee-owned engineering and environmental consultancy is seeking a Professional Engineer / Project Manager to join its growing Water team in Tampa, Florida . This role will focus on the delivery of municipal drinking water projects , working closely with clients, technical teams, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders from initial planning through design and construction. The position offers a flexible remote/hybrid working arrangement , with an expectation of approximately 2-3 days per week in the office or at client sites. Some regional travel will be required, generally around 20%. What You'll Work On Projects may include: Drinking water distribution system planning, modelling, capacity analysis, and design Water treatment plant upgrades and improvements PFAS treatment initiatives Lead and Copper Rule compliance projects Water system planning and capital improvement programs Construction-phase engineering and project support Key Responsibilities Lead municipal drinking water projects from planning and design through construction. Manage multidisciplinary teams, subconsultants, contractors, and project partners. Develop project scopes, technical approaches, schedules, budgets, and delivery strategies. Monitor project performance, milestones, costs, and deliverables. Serve as a key point of contact for municipal clients and develop long-term relationships. Coordinate with contractors, clients, and field personnel during construction. Perform and coordinate technical QA/QC reviews. Liaise with regulatory agencies and permitting authorities. Support proposals, fee development, scopes of work, and business development initiatives. Assist with resource planning and project staffing. Contribute to technical standards, design guidance, training, and knowledge sharing. Represent the organisation at client meetings and industry events. What We're Looking For 7+ years of consulting engineering experience, preferably within municipal drinking water. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering , or a related discipline. Active Florida PE license , or the ability to obtain one through reciprocity. Strong understanding of municipal drinking water systems, including treatment, distribution, planning, and design. Proven project management experience across multiple projects and multidisciplinary teams. Familiarity with state and federal regulations, permitting, bidding requirements, and infrastructure funding programs. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Experience developing proposals and project scopes, budgets, and schedules. Strong client-facing and relationship-building capabilities. Why Join?
