full-time Our client, a provider of lighting control and energy management solutions is seeking an Engineering Project Manager for this company of 700+ employees. This client delivers robust products that serve the electrical, pool and spa, HVAC/R, retail and OEM markets. This role will manage the scope, deliverables, schedule, budget, and quality of new Mechanical, Electrivcal, and Software/IT related projects. This role works HYBRID

  • M, Tu, Th in office in Libertyville, IL and W & F from home around a M-F 8am-5pm CST schedule with flexible start and end times. The role pays in the $110K
  • $120K range based on experience, includes a 5% discretionary bonus and unlimited PTO with a strong benefit package. The key to this role is past proven success managing engineering project work

The incumbent:

Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements in accordance with internal New Product Development process. Identifies required resources and assigns responsibilities. Ensures that each stage of the project is progressing on time, on budget and to the right quality standards and is tracked appropriately. Shows relentless attention to timeline and details. Proven project management experience with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Effectively applies NPD methodology and enforces project standards. Ensures project documentation is clear, concise, complete, and archived appropriately. Responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with project team members, stakeholders and senior leaders across Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Sales, and Suppliers to gain the cross-functional support needed to drive successful project results. Prepare status updates for project team, sponsors and executive leadership. Must be comfortable presenting project issues and summaries to senior management. Ensure all stakeholders are identified and included in scope definition activities and understand the program schedule and key milestones. Identify and manage project risks and issues to determine remediation actions and ensure they are resolved. Effective at collaboration, brainstorming and teamwork throughout assigned projects. Qualifications BSME or BSEE Degree or equivalent Bachelors Degree in this space. 8+ years experience working as a Project Manager/Engineer including managing product development projects. 5+ years experience in the design and manufacture of electromechanical and electronic products. Experience with UL, CSA, and other regulatory agency requirements and their effect on project management. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Proficient in Project Management Tools such as Microsoft Project, Adobe Workfront, Smartsheets, and/or Clarity, etc. PMP Certification a plus. Must be able to work in office (Libertyville, IL) ~3 days a week. Must be able to have occasional meetings (~2 times a month) with suppliers outside normal working hours (Asia Time Zones). Must have the ability to travel 1 time to Mexico to see manufacturing operations.
