An Engineering Project Manager oversees and leads execution of engineering projects, and manages communication and coordination among different types of engineers working on a project. Supervises project schedule, budget, and communications with stakeholders.
Position Summary The Project Engineering Manager leads multidisciplinary engineering efforts for utility-scale solar, battery energy storage (BESS), and wind projects from early-stage development through Issued for Construction (IFC). This role provides technical leadership while managing a team of Project Engineers responsible for coordinating engineering consultants, EPC contractors, Owner's Engineers, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate combines strong technical expertise with leadership, project management, and stakeholder management skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with Zelestra engineering standards.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or another engineering discipline relevant to renewable energy. 5-10+ years of engineering experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy, power generation, utilities, infrastructure, or EPC projects. 3+ years of engineering leadership or people management experience. Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams across utility-scale solar, battery energy storage (BESS), or wind energy projects. Strong knowledge of engineering project delivery from development through construction. Experience working with EPC contractors, engineering consultants, Independent Engineers, and Owner's Engineers. Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to travel approximately 25-35%.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4-5 Project Engineers while managing priorities and workloads across multiple projects. Oversee engineering for utility-scale solar, BESS, and wind projects from early development through IFC, construction, and commissioning. Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams and ensure deliverables meet Zelestra standards, codes, contracts, and project requirements. Review drawings, studies, calculations, technical reports, and design packages. Serve as the primary technical lead for design decisions, issue resolution, due diligence, and Independent Engineer reviews. Develop engineering scopes of work and support equipment selection, value engineering, constructability, and risk mitigation. Maintain engineering standards, templates, and lessons learned while driving continuous improvement. Promote the use of AI, automation, and digital tools to improve productivity and technical decision-making.
