POSITION OVERVIEW
Atlantic is seeking an experienced Professional Engineer to join our civil engineering group as a Senior Civil Project Manager. This is a hands-on project-management and technical-leadership position for a PE capable of independently managing civil/site and land-development projects from initial planning and permitting through final design and construction. The successful candidate will manage projects, clients, schedules, budgets, permitting, technical deliverables, and junior engineering staff while coordinating with Atlantic's survey, environmental, renewable-energy, and other professional teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Independently managing civil/site-development and land-development projects Serving as a primary client contact Managing project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables Leading projects from initial feasibility and concept design through permitting, final design, and construction Providing technical direction for site layout, grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, roadways and access, and other civil/site infrastructure Reviewing plans, calculations, technical reports, and specifications Coordinating permitting with municipalities and state/regulatory agencies Supervising and mentoring project engineers and design staff Coordinating with Atlantic's land-surveying and environmental teams Coordinating with architects, attorneys, contractors, developers, and other consultants Participating in proposals, project scoping, fee development, and client development Supporting the continued improvement and growth of Atlantic's civil engineering practice
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Minimum 10 years of relevant professional civil engineering experience Active Professional Engineer license Massachusetts PE license or ability to obtain Massachusetts licensure through reciprocity Strong site/civil and land-development experience Demonstrated project-management experience Demonstrated client-management capability Experience managing project budgets and schedules Experience supervising or mentoring engineering/design staff Strong knowledge of grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and site design Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills Ability to independently manage multiple projects and client relationships
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Significant Massachusetts land-development and permitting experience Established relationships within the Massachusetts development, engineering, architectural, municipal, or construction community Professional experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D HydroCAD/stormwater-management expertise Renewable-energy site-development experience Proposal development and project scoping Business-development experience Multidisciplinary project-management experience
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Base salary is $115,000 - $135,000+, depending on experience, professional qualifications, project-management capabilities, client-management experience, and strategic value to Atlantic. Exceptional candidates may be considered above the stated range.
