Plant Engineering Director:
As the leader of the Maintenance and Engineering department in a fast-paced plant, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal equipment performance and minimizing downtime. By implementing advanced maintenance systems such as Preventative and Predictive Maintenance and TPM, you will drive the plant towards high performance. Lead and oversee capital projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery within budget while strictly adhering to safety and environmental standards. Manage all project phases to minimize disruptions and enhance plant operations through strategic improvements. Develop and implement advanced maintenance strategies like Preventive and Predictive Maintenance and TPM to ensure optimal plant performance. Lead and motivate maintenance team members by delegating tasks effectively, enforcing policies, and prioritizing safety in all planning efforts. Act as the primary problem-solver for operational challenges, addressing issues proactively to ensure smooth production flow. Drive continuous improvement by establishing and monitoring Key Performance Indicators that track maintenance function success, ensuring peak performance in all plant areas. Lead and develop high-performing engineering teams through coaching, performance management, and collaboration with HR to create a safety-focused, communicative, and diverse workforce. Education & Experience Requirements of the
Plant Engineering Director:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Business, or a related field, along with 10+ years of Engineering management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required. Candidates with a Master's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field and 8+ years of relevant experience will also be considered. 5+ years of leadership experience, including team development and management, is required. Possess advanced technical skills in mechanical and electrical fields and demonstrate the ability to lead resource planning in a large manufacturing setting. Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, and preventive/predictive maintenance is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP is required. Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for this role. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Strong interpersonal, technical, and presentation skills are required. Flexibility to work long hours and weekends when necessary. Knowledge of pork products and the Meat Industry is preferred. Ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrates respect, approachability, teamwork, and the ability to build positive relationships in the work environment.
