Electrical Project Field Manager Job Description This role leads field operations for industrial electrical projects, overseeing small to mid-sized service and upgrade projects within a growing office. The Electrical Project Field Manager wears multiple hats, acting as project manager, superintendent, and foreman as needed, while coordinating crews, managing materials, and ensuring projects stay on schedule and within scope. The position focuses on upgrades to industrial manufacturing facilities, including food and beverage, ethanol, grain handling, mining, and other industrial environments. Responsibilities Serve as the primary field project manager, handling all aspects of field operations for assigned projects. Act as on-site superintendent for industrial upgrade projects, overseeing day-to-day activities and ensuring work progresses according to plan. Oversee and coordinate multiple crews on major projects, including supervising two lead foremen and their teams. Take full ownership of smaller service and upgrade projects, including planning, execution, and closeout. Perform detailed project takeoffs, including reviewing full sets of drawings and specifications to determine labor, materials, and equipment needs. Develop and maintain look-ahead schedules to proactively plan work, allocate resources, and keep projects on track. Manage project schedules, monitor progress, and adjust workflows and sequences to meet deadlines and milestones. Order and manage materials, including procurement, requisitions, and coordination of deliveries to support uninterrupted field operations. Collaborate closely with foremen to manage crews, assign tasks, and align daily work with project priorities. Communicate daily with foremen regarding site issues, progress updates, and required adjustments to plans or schedules. Coordinate and oversee conduit runs, wiring, instrumentation, and other electrical construction activities in industrial environments. Ensure proper implementation of pull schedules and other planning tools to optimize productivity and sequencing of work. Review and interpret electrical drawings and plans, and run methods of procedure (MOPs) to execute work safely and efficiently. Establish and enforce workflows and work sequences that support quality, safety, and timely completion. Enforce safety regulations on site and foster a strong culture of workplace safety among all crew members. Step into the field with tools on, as needed, to assist crews and support project progress. Travel to job sites using a company-provided vehicle when required to support field operations. Essential Skills Active journeyman or master electrician license. Experience serving as a lead foreman or superintendent on at least one project. Hands-on experience on at least one industrial job site involving instrumentation, pull schedules, and conduit runs. Proficiency in electrical construction, including wiring, conduit installation, and working with PLCs. Demonstrated project management experience in an electrical construction environment. Ability to manage multiple crews and coordinate work across several project areas. Strong experience performing project takeoffs from drawings and specifications. Proven ability to manage material ordering, procurement, and requisitions for electrical projects. Experience creating and using look-ahead schedules to plan and manage job sites. Strong communication skills for daily coordination and issue resolution with foremen and crews. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Suite). Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in industrial manufacturing environments such as food and beverage, ethanol, grain elevators, mining, or similar facilities. Ability to independently run smaller projects from planning through completion, including MOPs, drawing review, and field supervision. Comfort wearing multiple hats, including project manager, superintendent, and foreman, in a growing office. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage schedules, materials, and manpower effectively. Ability to establish efficient workflows and sequences to maintain productivity and project momentum. Capability to travel to various job sites as required. Per diem eligibility for travel assignments and potential mob/de-mob support, depending on location. Work Environment The role is field-focused and primarily based on industrial job sites, including manufacturing plants, food and beverage facilities, ethanol plants, grain elevators, and mining operations. Work centers around industrial upgrade and service projects within a national industrial portfolio. The Electrical Project Field Manager spends significant time on active construction sites, coordinating multiple crews and working closely with foremen and tradespeople. A vehicle is available for travel to and from job sites as needed. The environment involves typical industrial conditions such as noise, equipment, and active construction areas, and requires consistent adherence to safety practices and site protocols. Standard construction attire and appropriate personal protective equipment are required on site Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Prairie, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
