Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.

This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose:

Coordinate Global Programs to execute the OCS Division strategy to drive engineering solutions, proactive (preventive) quality and standard processes throughout the Value Stream and Product Life Cycle specific to customer needsFocus will be on highly strategic customers for the business. Being able to deliver to the needs and ensuring they deliver on their programs is essential to protect customer trust and future revenue.

This person will develop and execute systems and processes based on manufacturing and engineering capabilities to promote prevention and risk reduction. This requires project and workstream leadership in multiple areas throughout the Fulfillment Stream to accomplish long term improvements. The Fulfillment Stream includes both insourced & outsourced (Contract Manufactured) products.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate Product Engineering group for specific product lines through supervisor and ensure strategic intentions are met
• Clarify, understand, and document customer requirements, product specifications, industry requirements, and product applications
• Drive technically rigorous root cause analysis for product integrity issues
• Quickly and effectively respond to customer and commercial requests for rapid product changes

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Controls engineering, or Materials Science
• 7+ years of experience in progressively responsible roles in technology, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and/or quality, with demonstrated experience in Project management of significant scope in complexity, investment, and impact
• Certified DMAIC Green Belt 
• 4+ years of experience in Lean methodologies (Value Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, Kaizen Events, and Error-proofing) ; PQA methodologies; and in New Product Introductions including Change Management

Desired:

• Certified DMAIC Black Belt
• Experience as Product/Project Champion managing cross-functional teams (e.

g. Technology, Manufacturing, Division Engineering, PLM, Customer Experience, Freight Forwarder, etc.), and Transactional (e.g.

DESGN, MEE

) Problem Solving

• Knowledge of ERP/QMS platforms (SAP, ETQ, SharePoint, Windchill)

The range for this position is $111,819.00 - $153,752.00 assuming full time status.
