Relocation assistance Assistant Director of Engineering Requirements & Qualifications Experience overseeing building maintenance and operations for hotels or large commercial properties. Proficiency in basic computer skills, including entering technical data and monitoring schedules. Knowledge of building codes and compliance standards. Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to read blueprints and manage or assist with technical deadlines. Basic skills in electrical work, plumbing, and drywall repair. Hands-on experience with the use of common hand tools. Assistant Director of Engineering Preferred Background & Skills Previous supervisory or leadership experience in engineering or facilities management. Analytical ability for troubleshooting technical and operational issues. Experience supporting high-end clientele or executive-level guests. Familiarity with energy management and preventive maintenance programs. Assistant Director of Engineering Day-to-Day Responsibilities Conduct walk-throughs and visually assess the maintenance and operation of all hotel systems and structures. Oversee the completion of repairs, renovations, and routine maintenance across guest rooms, event spaces, restaurants, and back-of-house areas. Assist in hiring, training, supervising, and coaching engineering staff. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and compliance with purchasing policies, budgets, and schedules. Maintain and improve preventive maintenance and energy management programs. Serve as a technical resource for other departments, providing training on equipment safety and efficiency. Report regularly to leadership on the condition and needs of the hotel's infrastructure. Represent the hotel professionally at community and industry events.
