Job Description

Senior Facilities Wastewater Engineer Location:
Tempe/Peoria, Arizona Help build and operate the wastewater infrastructure supporting a major new semiconductor manufacturing facility. This position offers the opportunity to influence systems from initial design and construction through commissioning, start-up, and full-scale factory operations. What You'll Do Support the design, installation, commissioning, and start-up of organic, inorganic, and biological wastewater treatment systems. Partner with engineering firms, contractors, vendors, and internal teams to deliver reliable, scalable treatment infrastructure. Oversee treatment operations, including system monitoring, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and performance optimization. Track water quality, flow rates, chemical consumption, equipment performance, and other operational metrics. Support wastewater discharge permitting and related environmental approvals. Prepare regulatory reports and maintain compliance with county and other applicable environmental requirements. Identify opportunities to reduce water consumption, improve treatment efficiency, reuse water, and minimize discharge impacts. Establish and enforce safe practices for chemical handling, confined-space work, and equipment operation. Contribute to corporate sustainability initiatives and ESG reporting related to water management. Adapt responsibilities as the facility progresses from construction to ongoing production. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline. At least three years of wastewater treatment experience; semiconductor or advanced manufacturing experience is strongly preferred. Knowledge of biological, chemical, and physical treatment processes. Familiarity with SCADA systems and automated monitoring tools. Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Experience supporting design, construction, commissioning, or facility start-up preferred. Professional Engineer license is a plus. The position will initially support projects in Tempe and Peoria before transitioning to Peoria for factory operations. Candidates must be able to wear a respirator, lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work at elevation, enter confined spaces with appropriate PPE, and work in varying environmental conditions. #Workwolf
