Location US-CT-Groton Seat Location EB Groton Shipyard Trade Intern/Co-op Shift 1st Security Clearance Required Secret Overview General Dynamics Electric Boat provides an unparalleled learning experience for college students, offering practical exposure in the defense industry alongside professionals, shaping and supporting the future of submarine innovation. Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) interns are provided with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating. This is the opportunity to kick start your career and gain EH&S work experience!

Program Highlights Duration:

A minimum of 8 weeks during Summer 2027.

Location:

The position is on-site and you may be placed in any of the following locations:

Connecticut:

Groton, London, North Stonington

Rhode Island:

North Kingstown

Relocation Assistance:

This internship is not eligible for a housing stipend or relocation assistance. Application Process Applications will be reviewed once the position closes.

Qualifications Required:

Enrolled full-time at a College or University

Completed at least Freshman year by Summer 2027

Pursing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.

Willing and able to work 40 hours per week for at least 8 consecutive weeks between May 2027 to September 2027

Preferred:

Familiarity with environmental regulations.

Strong interest in how environmental regulations apply in the shipbuilding environment.

Strong interest in a shipyard trade or construction environment. Skills Effective written and verbal communication skills

Ability to effectively work both independently and as part of a team

Ability to learn new skills and apply them

Ability to solve problems in a constructive manner

Strong interpersonal skills
