Restoration 1 of Waterbury is seeking an experienced, hands-on Lead Technician to perform and help lead residential and commercial water, fire, and mold mitigation projects. This is a working field leadership position . The Lead Technician will actively perform mitigation work while helping guide technicians on job sites, maintain proper documentation, communicate with customers, and ensure work is completed safely and according to company standards. You will work directly with the Project Manager, who oversees project scheduling and overall job management. The Lead Technician is responsible for helping carry out the work in the field and keeping jobs organized and moving forward. This position is ideal for someone with experience in restoration, mitigation, construction, or a skilled trade who is dependable, takes initiative, and is comfortable leading others while working alongside the crew.
Responsibilities:
Perform water, fire, and mold mitigation work Lead and assist technicians on job sites Complete job setup, demolition, cleaning, equipment placement, and other mitigation tasks Perform moisture readings and monitor drying progress Properly set up and operate restoration equipment Take job photos and maintain accurate field documentation Communicate professionally with customers regarding the work being performed Coordinate daily job-site needs with the Project Manager Ensure job sites remain clean, organized, and professional Assist with documentation required for insurance claims Identify job-site issues and communicate them to the Project Manager Help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards Assist with loading, unloading, cleaning, and maintaining equipment and vehicles
Qualifications:
Experience in restoration, water mitigation, mold remediation, construction, or a related trade preferred Previous experience leading or supervising a crew is a plus Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and moving restoration equipment Strong work ethic and ability to work independently Ability to problem-solve and make sound decisions in the field Strong communication and organizational skills Comfortable communicating with homeowners, property managers, and other customers IICRC certifications such as WRT, ASD, or AMRT are a plus Valid driver's license required Reliable transportation required

Monday - Friday Emergency and after-hours on-call rotation may be required.
