Great Lakes Biorecovery is seeking dependable and professional field technicians to assist with specialty cleaning, biohazard remediation, hoarding clear outs, and property recovery services. We are a growing company and currently do not have consistent full-time work available. This is a per diem/on-call position where hours will vary based on job volume. We are building a reliable team of workers who are able to respond to assignments, arrive on time, and have dependable transportation to job locations. The more assignments you accept and the more reliable you are, the higher priority you may receive for future job opportunities as work becomes available. Work may include daytime, evening, weekend, and emergency assignments. Frequent bonus opportunities may be offered based on job needs, performance, availability, and willingness to take on assignments. The ideal candidate is reliable, detail-oriented, able to follow instructions, has dependable transportation, and is comfortable performing physical work in sensitive environments while wearing required PPE. 99% of our jobs are M-F 8-5pm, you will need to have this availability some of the time in order to apply.
Responsibilities:
Assist with specialty cleaning and biohazard remediation projects, this may include hoarding, blood, and animal waste situations. Remove, bag, and handle materials as directed Perform detailed cleaning, wiping, deodorization, and job-site cleanup Assist with containment setup and protection of unaffected areas Load, unload, and organize equipment and supplies Follow company safety procedures and supervisor instructions Maintain professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality on all job sites Report safety concerns or unexpected site conditions to the supervisor immediately Communicate availability and arrive reliably for accepted assignments
Requirements:
Bloodborne Pathogens training required before performing field work Prior experience in restoration, cleaning, construction, demolition, janitorial work, or general labor preferred Must be comfortable working in sensitive environments Must be able to lift, carry, bend, kneel, and perform physical labor Must be comfortable wearing PPE when required Must be reliable, punctual, and professional Must be able to follow detailed instructions Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Must have the ability to reliably travel to job sites throughout the service area (Chicago to Milwaukee) Ability to pass a background check may be required

Work Environment:
This position may involve physically demanding work, sensitive job sites, odors, debris, and conditions requiring PPE. Job-specific safety instructions and PPE will be provided.
